Talking Always is the debut EP by We Spoke in Headphones, featuring five interconnected songs that reflect on identity, vulnerability, self-sabotage, invisible change, childhood echoes and the pressures that quietly shape what we become. Rather than telling a linear story, the record unfolds as a series of emotional fragments, suspended between clarity and ambiguity, intimacy and distance.

We Spoke in Headphones is an independent music project that grew out of a shared creative experience shaped by instinctive improvisation, whispered vocals and minimal patterns. Blending electronic production, atmospheric sound design and introspective songwriting, the project moves through dreamlike landscapes where meaning often emerges through suggestion rather than direct narrative.

Film Lab

With Talking Always, the music expands into a cycle of five narrative short films, each built around a different style. The use of generative AI models as a tool for cinematic creation is central to the development of the films. In this process, technology becomes both an expressive medium and an implicit part of the work’s discourse.

Falling Down

The first completed work transforms the song into a dark animated fairy tale set around an abandoned farmhouse occupied by a feral cat colony. Inspired by real events, it follows Hugo, a stray cat whose recovery gives him the strength and confidence to explore a world he had never previously been strong enough to face.

Undercover

Undercover, currently in production and scheduled for release by the end of 2026, takes the form of a psychological short with a photorealistic aesthetic. The film explores the relationship between adult identity and the inner child through compulsions, roles and carefully maintained appearances.

Ill Sound

The cycle will continue in 2027 with the remaining films, beginning with Ill Sound, a photorealistic science-fiction short. Through the metaphor of an intergenerational journey across deep space, the film translates into images the sense of vertigo running through the song’s atmosphere and meaning.
